The project
How do you build a comfortable office building at 45 °C without permanent air conditioning? The Kalam headquarters answers with a ventilated double skin of terracotta screens, produced 30 km from the site.
Measured over one year: a 6 °C gap with the outside at peak, and an energy bill divided by three compared with a similar glazed building.
