Villa Harmattan

A 420 m² courtyard house for a family of five. The brief called for privacy without giving up light: the answer is a central patio planted with a flame tree, around which every room is organised.

The 40 cm compressed-earth-block walls provide thermal inertia that shifts the heat peak by eight hours. You sleep cool without air conditioning.

Materials

Raw earth, vène timber, patinated brass, fabrics woven in Ségou. No material travelled more than 500 km.
